My Chalky Christmas Decor

It's beginning to look a lot like (a Chalky/ Buffalo Check/ I made or painted it all myself) Christmas!

Thanksgiving is this Thursday and I am so excited for food, family and fun. I am also really very excited to put up our Christmas tress and Christmas decor on Friday!  It is one of our favorite family activities and I look forward to it all fall each year.

I am going to make a confession to y'all... don't judge me! I have 5 sets of Christmas decor. 😳
Yes... I said 5.  Thank the heavens that we have a large attic!  I like to alternate sets each year so that I don't get bored with the decor.  I have: Classic red and gold, Sparkly silver and blue, Rustic with multiple metallics and Elegant green and brown. This year is my first time adding Buffalo Check/Plaid into the rotation.  I am SOOOOO excited y'all!

So far I have painted a Chalky Tannebaum tree and added tiny clothes pins to it to make an advent calendar.  I will clip up 25 days of giving activities for myself and my girls to participate in through December.

I hae also painted a Chalky Sleigh Bells Ring kit with our Chalkyboard paint and a personalized Chalky stencil to create a Christmas Countdown!

I then used a few Little Dreamer Boards, 1 Test of Thyme board, 1 Personally yours board, some holiday stencils and personalized stencils to create these cuties!

Everything is painted using Antique Lace, White Mountains, Midnight Black, Code Red and Heritage Brown Glaze.  Contact me if you are interested in painting or purchasing any of these fun projects!

I have also sewn some buffalo check throw pillows and made some buffalo check tree ornaments!
I will be sure to post a picture once the decor is all up.  Until then- have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

How to Use Google Forms in Your Chalky Business

Hey everyone!  I am always trying to come up with ways to make my business run more smoothly.  Work smarter not harder- right!? One resource that I have discovered is using Google Forms to begin the order taking process during parties. It helps me to get everyones information so I can total their orders and contact them for payment.  I want to share with all of you how easy it is to set up.

Step 1:  Log into your google account and click on the squares icon at the top. Then select DRIVE.

Step 2: Click on New and then select Google Forms.

Step 3: Start creating your custom form!  Give it a title, add a description and then start asking your customers questions.  It's that easy!  You can ask questions with multiple choice, short answer, long answer and other answer style options.  You can even add images to each question.  Some people are very visual and need to see what you are talking about.  Customize the form to fit your needs!

Step 4:  Share your completed form via email or social media and ask your customers to fill it out! Click on send and then enter an email address or choose where you want to send the form- Google, Facebook or Twitter.  Easy Peasy!  Your customers can fill out the form and Voila you have all the info you need to get the ordering started!

I am currently holding a party where the hostess has limited the kits that the customers can choose from to 5 options.  This helps to not overwhelm the customers and makes choosing a project easier!  Here is the form that I created for this party so that you can see an example of a completed form.

I hope that this helps.  Let me know if you have any questions.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

How to pin your Chalky Projects to Pinterest

Good morning everyone and Happy November!  I have had a few people recently ask me about how I pin my Chalky projects to Pinterest after I paint them.  Here is the easiest way that I have found to do this and I do it right from my phone... because it is easy and the phone is always in my hand or pocket! haha

Step 1:  Take a photo of your amazing Chalky creation.  I like to stage at least a little so I added nail polish bottles to the completed kit here. The better your picture looks the more likely Pinners will look at it!

Step 2: I open up my photos file on my phone and choose the picture I want to Pin.  Click on the envelope in the lower left corner to view the photo options.

Step 3: Scroll over to the Pinterest button and click it.  Then the Pinterest screen will pop up allowing you to add a description to your pin and choose which of your boards to pin it to.

Step 4: Go into the Pinterest app and find the Pin you just added.  (Yes I have Hulu and Netflix on my phone- don't judge me! haha) Click on the Pin then click on the pencil in the top left corner to edit the Pin.  Here you can add/edit the description and ADD YOUR WEBSITE!!! This is how people will find you.  If you do not add a website or Facebook URL here then people will just see your photo when they click on your Pin- it will not take them to you!! Then click done!

That's it! So quick and easy.   I hope that this helps you on your Chalky project pinning journey.   If you really want to get fancy check out my blog post about adding matching covers to all of your Pinterest boards!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
